According to Pantone anyway as they announce their colour of the year for 2019 as Living Coral.
They describe it as an animating and life-affirming coral hue with a golden undertone that energises and enlivens with a softer edge.
Living Coral embraces us with warmth and nourishment to provide comfort and buoyancy in our continually shifting environment.
Sounds lovely, but if you can’t quite picture what comfort and buoyancy in a continually shifting environment looks like, then take a look at the swatches below;

So what does it mean for websites and design in 2019?
In 2018 Pantone chose Ultra Violet as the colour of the year and as it happens last year we did see quite a lot of purple, ultra violet and similar coloured websites as a trend. Maybe that’s just a coincidence? Guess we’ll have to wait and see.
We could see this colour working great for some sites, things like interior design, beauty, fabrics, crafts, cakes, personal blogs and similar websites.
It will interesting to see what the design community creates with the colour next year.
