Support Documentation

Welcome to the help section, here you can find information to help you set up your devices with email accounts. Please contact us if you would like guides for any other devices.

Mailboxes and IMAP

Mailboxes can be loaded onto your device or through your mail client using an IMAP or POP connection. However, we recommend using IMAP settings.

By using an IMAP connection, you can have multiple clients simultaneously connected to the same mailbox.  For example, you can have email on your phone, your tablet, and your computer, and when you delete a message from your phone, it will also be deleted on your other devices.

Your device or program should have detailed information on how to add and set up mailboxes onto the system, but there are general pieces of information you need to complete the process these include the following –

Incoming mail server:

imap.stackmail.com

Outgoing mail server:

smtp.stackmail.com

Username

Your username will be the email address you are setting up for example – dave.smith@mycompany.com

Display name

This is the name you want displayed on your emails e.g. ‘Dave Smith’ or ‘Accounts’ etc

How to set up your email in Outlook

We utilise auto discover technology so in the majority of cases, Microsoft Outlook can set up your account for you with only an email address and a password.

Automatic Setup

  1. In Outlook, choose the File tab
  2. Under Account Information, choose Add Account
  3. Select other email
  4. On the Auto Account Setup page, enter your name, email address, and password, and then
  5. Choose Finish

Manual Setup

If automatic setup failed, you can choose Manual setup or additional server types to enter your settings manually using the following settings:

Account type: IMAP
Incoming mail server: imap.stackmail.com
Outgoing mail server: smtp.stackmail.com
Incoming server port (IMAP): 993
Use the following type of encrypted connection: SSL
Outgoing server port (SMTP): 587
Use the following type of encrypted connection: TLS

When setting up your account, please choose More Settings > Outgoing Server and tick the check the box for My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication.

If you experience any problems with the connection or receive a certificate warning, please disable SSL/TLS encryption and change the incoming server port to 143.

Mac Outlook

Mac Outlook may look slightly different but all the settings remain the same.

Trouble shooting

If you experience any problems with the connection or receive a certificate warning, please disable SSL/TLS encryption and change the incoming server port to 143.
